Residential school for adolescent girls with school, family, emotional problems, provides certified special education on grounds, supportive nurturance with firm limits in a just community situation. Intensive individual, small group, family therapy, aims to re-unify families where possible and to prepare young women for independent living where more appropriate. Cost: Call for information. Afterschool homework help, recreation programs and summer program, arts, computer training, community garden, crisis hotline, counseling for youths and their families, youth employment/gardening and landscaping project, outpatient counseling on drugs and alcohol abuse to youth and families, referrals to other programs, sponsors Youth Celebration Day, in MLK Jr. Park. Encourages AIDS awareness in school children and general public discussion on AIDS and related social issues, gives quilts and afghans to children with AIDS, homeless children and drug-impacted children upon request, advocates for children in crisis, accepts donation for gifts to children.
