Fourth Annual Berkeley International Food Festival

In its fourth year, the Berkeley International Food Festival offers attendees the many ethnic cuisines of West Berkeley's International Marketplace. The event takes place from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, and showcases West Berkeley's International Marketplace restaurants, specialty food markets and import shops, and will feature entertainment and cultural activities throughout the Festival area.

The Festival is a collection of brightly defined walkways, with its nexus at San Pablo and University Avenues. Festivalgoers can visit restaurants and food markets throughout the neighborhood for specials, cooking demonstrations, exotic food products and the sampling of dozens of international dishes. Live entertainment, specialty food booths, and amusements are featured throughout the Festival area.

Watch as 4th Street Studio artists complete the Blick Community Mural on the YMCA at 10th Street at University. The mural has been a labor of love, created during the 2007 and 2008 Festivals, and will be completed at this year's event!

While watching, you can hear live music - three stellar bands from the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse's Bluegrass Slow Jam. In between live entertainment, DJ Scott Bedarky will spin tunes while you browse the crafts booths.

Stop by the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse where the Take the Stage band workshop will dish out bluegrass & old-time music with hot licks & traditional harmonies from 1-4 pm. Listening is free and drop-in participation is encouraged.
